The owners of Motivation Weight Management’s Tralee, Ennis and Killarney clinics have won a top industry award recognising their success as Ireland’s most outstanding franchisee. The Franchisee of the Year Award was presented to husband and wife team John and Marion Whyte at the recent 2012 Irish Franchise Awards ceremony, hosted and organised by the Irish Franchise Association in Dublin’s RDS on Friday 27th April last. The couple were honoured for their achievement of successfully opening three new Motivation clinics in Tralee, Killarney and Ennis in the space of less than 15 months.
Having previously managed the Motivation Clinic in neighbouring Limerick, the couple went into business for themselves when they applied for and were granted the franchise for the first Motivation Clinic in Tralee, where they opened for business in November 2010.
Adhering closely to the principles of Motivation’s best practice business franchise programme and focusing strongly on the company’s positive customer service ethic, John and Marion transformed their new clinic into an immediate success.
Building on this success, Marion and John took the decision to apply for a second franchised clinic in Ennis, Co. Clare, for which they were awarded the franchise in July 2011. As was the case with Tralee, their experience in Limerick had alerted them to the potential of the market in Clare, which like Kerry had until then not been served by its own local Motivation Clinic.
The couple completed their hat trick of openings with the launch of their new franchised Motivation Clinic in Killarney in January of this year. They currently employ a total of 12 people at their three clinics.
Marion and John are completely committed to the Motivation concept, which offers a unique solution to weight management, by helping clients to achieve and maintain their ideal weight by tackling habits and attitudes at the root of overeating and other unhealthy behaviours.
“We get a huge buzz from the business and there is a fantastic energy about it,” says Marion. “We find that we get out what we put into it. There’s tremendous validation in helping people, which makes you want to go the extra mile. At the end of the day, when a client hugs you, you know you are doing something right!”
